Robert Wayles Watkins III is a retired, combat Army veteran with over twenty-five years of outstanding experience ensuring the food supply is safe and available for the intended customer. In previous roles with the military, Robert has served in peacekeeping missions (Bosnia 1996), hostile environment (Dubai 2000, Bahrain 2006, Honduras 2012), and combat environment (Iraq 2013), all while ensuring the food supply is fully open, and public health functions operate to ensure the mission is not compromised.
After the military, Robert worked for over five years for the Virginia Department of Health (VDH) as a Standardized Environmental Health Specialist (EHS). In his many functions, he balances restaurant inspections, rabies surveillance, water compliance, hotel inspections, among many tasks as an EHS. With VDH, ultimately elevated to Standardization Officer. Robert served with integrity established ties with internal and external customers with organizational goals primary in all interactions.
Robert maintains his knowledge and expertise by staying active in food safety issues. He is HACCP, food safety manager certified, and has many other certifications. Robert holds an associate degree in management studies from the University of Maryland and has attended Kansas State University pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Business.
